Good Riddance 2009 Hello 2010

For the first time I was not sad and melancholy about the passing of a year. This time I was more than ready for it to be a new year.

2009 sucked. Seriously sucked. On every level from career to personal even social (as in the world- economic troubles, the war, all the people that died, etc).

Every day the news was full of nothing but bad, my life steadily kept having stupid and terrible things happen like getting robbed and my father in law passing away. My career took hits at every turn as well. Book proposals not accepted, getting passed over for job after job, losing positions when publications folded or downsized...

The bad far outweighed the good and that was with me trying so desperately hard to be positive every day with my affirmations and positive thinking. By December I was so done with positive thinking I shoved it in a hole. It just wasn't working.

Saying goodbye to 2009 was something easily done this year.

So I say a glorious farewell to 2009, goodbye, glad you are done.

And now I look to 2010 to be the year of good things. OK not just good but awesome things. Not only is it a new year, it's a new decade.
